I was privileged to work with Sally on the new welcoming map and sign for the township of Truro. Sally gave me a tour of the township and surrounding landscape which highlighted to me the rugged beauty of the historic area. As Truro is a through-route to larger towns, passing travellers often miss the experiences offered by the towns historic sites, walking trails and restful parks. The map, located in the rest stop, was designed to encourage visitors to take a closer look.
To reflect the personality and beauty of the town, I sampled colours from the surrounding landscape that captured both the dryness of the farming community and the beauty of the natural landscape.
